Where Ramrot started
RamRot started as one oke’s way of holding onto something real, the feeling you get training next to different people over the years.
Some were skinny and finding their feet, some were absolute monsters, but it never mattered, because you adapt to each other, find the rhythm, and end up having a proper jol while still pushing hard.
That’s the thing about training in South Africa, we’re on a different wavelength. There’s a mutual understanding that makes it easy to train together, a bit of ego, a bit of chirping, but always knowing when to switch on and get the work done.
RamRot became a symbol of all of that, every training partner, every shared session, every good memory that stuck.
If you bring effort and respect, you’re good.
Welcome to RamRot.
What Does RamRot Do?
Selling gym merch is the core of what we do at RamRot. We focus on apparel that’s built for training, comfortable enough for long sessions, and clean enough to wear beyond the gym. This is our main business model and the foundation that allows everything else to exist.
Our goal isn’t fast fashion or hype drops, but gear that reflects consistency, effort, and respect for the grind. If you train in it, it should feel right and hold up over time.
RamRot is about recognising the work people put in, not just the end result. We aim to build a brand that represents the grind, the commitment, and the shared culture around training, while making everyone involved look good in the process.
This isn’t limited to athletes or influencers. It’s about everyday lifters who show up, push hard, and carry the same mindset. That’s the type of talent we want to support and grow with.
We actively try to keep things local. Wherever possible, we source South African-made products and work with local suppliers before considering outside options.
RamRot is proudly South African and believes in lifting up local businesses that share the same work ethic and standards. Supporting local isn’t a slogan for us, it’s a conscious choice in how we operate.
Beyond training and apparel, RamRot is also about gym culture, stories, and humour. In time, we’ll be building out a blog space that reflects the lighter side of training and the experiences that come with it.
If you’re interested in writing or contributing as a freelance creator, you’re always welcome to reach out. We’re open to fresh perspectives and voices that fit the culture.
Think you look like a RamRot?
If you’ve got that old-school edge that feels natural and gets noticed without trying, this might be for you.
This isn’t about being the biggest in the gym or chasing attention. It’s about how you train, how you carry yourself, and the respect you show for the space and the people around you. Train hard, enjoy the session, keep it real.
For the right people, being involved can also mean earning a few extra rands each month as a representative. Nothing forced, nothing fake, just backing a brand you already live by.
We’re building this carefully, so applications will be reviewed and the right people selected. Drop your details below and we’ll take a look. If you’re a good fit, you’ll hear from us.
What does it take?
There’s no set mould here. If this feels like your kind of thing, it’s worth having a look.
Below are a few things we consider when bringing new people on board. You don’t need to tick every box, and some of them might matter less than you think. Take a minute to check them out, the requirements might surprise you.
If it still feels right after that, you know what to do.
Am I big enough for this?
This isn’t about size or looking a certain way. Strength shows up in a lot of forms, and we’re not here to measure worth by numbers on a bar. Consistency, effort, and how you carry yourself matter far more than how big you are right now.
No socials? No stress.
A strong social media presence isn’t a requirement. We care more about real people in real gyms than perfectly curated profiles. If you enjoy posting, that’s fine. If you don’t, it won’t count against you.
That said, sharing a bit does help us get a feel for who you are and how you move through your training. Nothing forced and nothing staged. Just enough for us to understand the person behind it. Authenticity matters more than activity.
Someone handed you a card?
If you’ve been noticed by one of our scouts, it means something stood out. That could be your attitude or how you train. It doesn’t guarantee anything, but it does mean you’re already on our radar and worth a closer look.
